Anderson Valley Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale Commercial Description

“With a brilliant, deep copper hue and creamy beige-colored head, our Anderson Valley Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale has inviting aromas of caramelized malt and baking bread with highlights of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin and seasonal spices. The pleasantly creamy mouthfeel and silky body embrace the sweet caramel flavors and tang of spices (with just hint of hops) that ends in a smooth, round finish.”

Anderson Valley Fall Hornin’ Pumpkin Ale gets points just for being in a can- this is the only pumpkin beer we have encountered (so far)- that came in a can. (And then when I searched for information online the picture was of a bottle, but that’s neither here nor there). I wish I would have gotten points for being original when I was younger- I once came home with black streaks in my brown hair, and I was informed by my Mother that I look as if I should be “Selling it on the streets.” Hmmm. -_______-

The can does a good job of hiding exactly how dark this beer really is- it’s almost the color of a stout. However, there is zero bitterness! One of our testers remarked, “This is the Transformers of pumpkin beer. A Deceptacon.” One would think, given its dark poor and large head, that this beer would be very hoppy or bitter…and yet it is none of these things. This beer is the pumpkin beer that other pumpkin beers should go to bed dreaming that they will grow up to be one day.
