Cricket Hill Pumpkin Ale Commercial Description:

“Our version of this fall favorite is brewed with select malts, pumpkin, specialty hops, and a pumpkin-pie spice blend of cinnamon, allspice, ginger and nutmeg. Well-balanced with a rich caramel color and smooth finish, it’s great to enjoy during the harvest season.”

Not giving New Jersey a good name. This Pumpkin Ale falls flat on all notes. There is a earthiness to Cricket Hill’s autumn offering that finishes with a spicy linger. What this spicy linger exactly is, however, is unknown because it’s certainly not Pumpkin Spice. Mouthfeel was thin and watery. Aroma fell short of what ones expectation is when drinking a Pumpkin beer. The label is as unbalanced as is the beer. Cricket Hill’s packaging design in general seems amateurish, with hopelessly outdated loud gradients and sunburst vectors. Perhaps Cricket Hill would better benefit from a Pork Roll flavored beer offering.
