I once dated a girl with dreadlocks. My best friend at the time and I called her Sweater, because one day he asked me what her dreadlocks smelled like, and I told him, “an old wool sweater.”

2 years into our relationship, I told her, “If you cut off your dreadlocks, I will dump you.” I was half serious.

We broke up anyway, but for different reasons.

This beer is about as earthy as a girl in dreadlocks whose nickname was Sweater. Like a mouthful of good, dark dirt.

Ok it doesn’t really taste like dirt at all. It actually tastes halfway decent. Samuel Adams Pumpkin Batch possesses a strong aroma that floats out of the glass, with a bitter, spicy aftertaste.

It’s about the best you’re going to do in pumpkin beers from the more mainstream breweries.
